First of all, it is my great pleasure to welcome all participants to the 9 th ASEAN Council of Physical Education and Sport Conference 2023.
In accordance with our university vision, “To be a leading university in Asia”, this academic conference and collaboration is a great opportunity for the Faculty of Education and Mahasarakham University to share and learn global academic knowledge and experience, especially, in the area of physical education, health, exercise and sport science among ASEAN universities.
I would like to convey my special appreciation to the Department of Health and Sport Science committee, staff, and students of your outstanding efforts.
Without a shadow of a doubt, I strongly believe that the enthusiasm and diligent effort of all participants will make this conference an overwhelming success.

Welcome message from the Dean
The 9th ASEAN Council of Physical Education and Sport (ACPES) Conference 2023. As the dean of the faculty of education, I am honored to host this important event. Our conference has 2 key topics: The Challenges from a Thai National Policy Perspective and a Research Perspective, in regards to Physical activity, Physical Education and Sport Science. We aim to shape the future of physical education and sport science on a global scale.
I express my heartfelt gratitude to all the participants, organizers, and distinguished guests for their presence and contribution to this conference. I encourage you to actively engage in fruitful discussions, share your valuable insights, and form meaningful collaborations. Together, let us harness the power of collective wisdom and drive the conference event that empowers individuals and societies.
I am confident that the outcome of the conference will be not only invaluable for the ACPES network’ staffs and students, but also will be appreciated for physical educator, and health, exercise, or sport researchers, including technical and academic sports and all other participants in this conference.

Welcome message from the Conference Chair
Since 1993, I was given once opportunity as chairperson of the 3rd ASEAN Universities Conference on Physical Education and Sport Science: AUCPESS 2013. This year once again brings me the great honor of being the Chairperson of the 9th ASEAN Council of Physical Education and Sport (ACPES) Conference 2023. Organizing Committees welcome you to participate in the conference which takes place in Mahasarakham University, Thailand, 30 October-1 November 2023. It is hosted by the Department of Health and Sport Science, under Faculty of Education (EDU) at Mahasarakham University (MSU). The 9th ACPES, 2023, brings together members of the academic community, university professionals and practitioners in ASEAN from the health, exercise, sport, and physical education industries to discuss our related disciplines. This year’s conference will have the theme, “International Conference on Physical Activity, Physical Education and Sport Science”, with main focuses being on how physical activity knowledge can be applied in physical education and sport science. This conference provides value for the staff and current students of each network university, by inspiring and challenging their working and studying, and is also open to outside participants either locally or internationally, especially in ASEAN countries. We are calling for papers in the previously mentioned areas for both oral and poster presentations. The conference will not only benefit greatly on our academic professions, but also on experiences, cultural, and social as well as networking among us.
I am confident that as representatives of your countries and universities, you will all enjoy learning from each other and establishing lasting friendships at the 9th ACPES, 2023. Enjoy the conference, enjoy MSU.

WELCOME MESSAGE BY THE PRESIDENT OF ACPES
Dear Participants,
On behalf of the 9th ASEAN Council of Physical Education and Sport (ACPES) Conference organising committee, I thank you for making time to join us for this exciting conference!
The 9th ACPES conference focuses on “Physical Activity, Physical Education and Sport Science”. It brings together members of academia, professionals and practitioners from the physical education, sports science, health, exercise, and sport management domains to discuss related disciplines. The speakers and presenters will share innovative approaches and impactful research findings to guide and chart the future of physical activity, physical education and sport. I am sure you will benefit from the keynote addresses, invited and institutional speakers’ sessions, oral presentations, and workshops.
On behalf of the board members of ACPES, I would like to express my appreciation to the leaders of Mahasarakham University for hosting this conference – it has been 10 years later since they last hosted. The organising committee has been working relentlessly to put together an exciting programme for you, from ASEAN countries and beyond. I am confident that this conference will be a successful one.
ACPES also wants to pay tribute to our Treasurer, Dr. Arpon Popa from Mahasarakham University, who left us on 1st June 2023. She had been a valued member of our team since 2011. She was also the key driver behind the bidding of this conference. I am sure she would be very proud of her university to be able to host this conference again after so many years.
I hope through this, ACPES will continue to promote and support staff and student exchanges, research collaborations, and educational links among higher learning institutions. Most importantly, to consolidate and enrich friendships among delegates, near and far.
